The UCCS Department of Mathematics has vibrant research groups in algebra, probability, and applied mathematics. It offers doctoral, master's, bachelor's, and minor degrees.
In the Ph.D. program students can specialize in the research areas represented in the department. Our master's program offers two separate degrees--the M.S. is focused on mathematics and applied mathematics, while the MSc is cross-disciplinary.
In the department's B.S. program each student may choose one of the following specialized tracks: pure mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, secondary teaching, and flexible. Our Accelerated Master's program allows students to earn both B.S. and M.S. degrees in five years. The department also offers minor degrees in mathematics and statistics.
Through the MathOnline program high school and other students can earn credit for UCCS courses remotely.
- We invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, to begin in August 2021. Please see our MathJobs ad for more information.
- The Department of Mathematics has formed a new research center: Algebras and Rings in Colorado Springs (ARCS)! This center is dedicated to promoting general mathematical research and scholarship, with a particular focus on the study of rings and algebras.
